Name of the project: Precise Biomatch
SIMagine 2008
Precise BioMatch™ is a secure solution for matching a person’s fingerprint with one stored inside the protected environment of a cell phone SIM card for reliable, user friendly authorization. Both Security and privacy are protected as the matching is performed entirely inside the SIM card.
Fingerprints are sent to the telephone in any of a variety of ways including NFC, Bluetooth, GPRS and MMS. No integrated reader is necessary . Using an external sensor means that the matching mechanism can be used to confirm a physical presence, or as a means of controlling wireless phone transactions by using an affirmative action on the part of the owner. This provides a useful barrier against skimming attacks. The solution can also be used to generate certificates for eSignatures or transaction confirmation.
"SIMagine in itself was a good opportunity to showcase the technology. We got a number of concrete contacts at the Mobile World Congress booth and it gave us a possibility to create our first personal contacts in the mobile industry. Today we have taken the decision to move ahead with a full launch in the mobile sector. We have only started, but this is due to the current projects in National ID Cards taking our resources. Now we have a dedicated team to work on the mobile market and we hope that we will be able to advance rapidly. We have demos, POCs ongoing at this time. NDA prevents me from giving a direct reference. Our technology can be loaded OTA as a Java Applet and so it is independent of smart card vendor. We have won a number of National ID Card projects as well as large IT Sec (Single Sign On, SSO) projects. These projects have been won together with our established smartcard and software partners in markets where we have been involved for many years. Winning SIMagine and the exposure that it gave our effort in SIM cards and mobiles is clearly interesting to our existing customers and has been taken very positively in our established markets."

SIMagine 2007
SIMKey is a flexible and powerful solution replacing all kinds of electronic keys with a cell phone. This unique composition of very high level of security in SIM cards with popularity and wide range of applications of Bluetooth technology could transform a simple process of opening door into a highly scalable system where levels of security and ergonomics could be customized at will. Our application consists of just a few elements. First of them is a J2ME applet, which is responsible for communication with a Bluetooth adaptor placed near door and at the same time provides a friendly user interface to control its functionality. This applet communicates with a JavaCard application which manages the public-private key pair used to encode appropriate data. On the other side there is a J2EE application, which manages the whole process including authorization, authentication and access control.
"Thanks to SIMagine, my company continues its dynamic growth focusing on developments in the mobile industry. The company major projects are associated today with two areas: SMS (SMS brokerage and SMS based applications, SMS broadcast) and Customized mobile applications based on J2ME (example: mobile banking). We have developed relationships with all mobile operators in Poland (SMS aggregation and processing, SMS billing, WAP Billing)."

Name of the project: Key Tone
SIMagine 2004
An identification/authentication method based on the automatic recognition of a unique sequence of tones (ie ringtone) played by a mobile phone. Key Tone can ‘off-line’ identify users/devices, services and products not only by Bluetooth or IR, but also by simply using tones.
"SIMagine helped me having contacts with the industry and with the promotion of the application. My company’s main projects today are NFC with some MVNO (post, coop), Wireless Sensor Networks with ESA or Social networking with Telecome Italia. I have developed partnerships with Wind for location based services and with the Telecom industry for social networking and Symbian applications (SMS banner, Sync by VXML)."
